Is It Time To Clean House?

While I am of the opinion that Tressel should have been fired after the Sugar Bowl and the currently suspended players should have been cut before the Sugar Bowl. There are a few things that have yet to really be talked about seriously. The most important of all of them is this -

Should Ohio State clean house?

If you look at what happened at USC, Pete Carroll simply took a job in the NFL. He was never really the recipient of any sort of punishment. The interesting part of their saga is that they hired a coach (Lane Kiffin) that was part of the scandalized coaching staff and team to begin with.

I realize that at this point Coach Luke Fickell is the best/only option for this season. However, I am also of the opinion that he was part of a coaching staff that failed to adhere to NCAA rules. He was in a position of power as a coach and these things happened under his watch as well.

A big part of me wants him to stick as OSU's coach for the next 10-20 years if he wins and runs a clean program.

A bigger part of me thinks it is time for Ohio State to get rid of every coach and player in question (assuming there is a proper investigation that finds them guilty).

These questions will all be answered, but the question really is - Under what circumstances?

Braxton Miller - The Next Trainwreck?

For the love of all things holy. Am I the only one that fears for the Ohio State football program is at a greater risk with this guy at the helm as quarterback?

Check out the cheesy Cam Newton smile.
Check out the enormous Ohio State tat.
Check out Terrelle Pryor 2.0.

As much as I want to be excited about this guy, I am disturbed by what I see as a future second blow to Ohio State.

I don't think Miller is already dooming OSU, but I think there is a chance that unless he is quickly brought into the mind-set that he isn't above the rules it could and will spell disaster.
Keep your eyes open and keep your mind right.

This recent fallout hasn't killed my dedication to Ohio State. It has allowed me to open my eyes and my mind to be honest with myself about the filthiness of NCAA sports.

Get Rid of Terrelle Pryor

Terrelle Pryor...

The time has come to get rid of this guy. When he came out of high school and signed with Ohio State I could tell he was simply going to the highest bidder. If you look at how all of that went down, I can promise you that he was offered some perks from the likes of Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, etc.

Do I have evidence? No.
Do I need evidence to know that Cam Newton got paid big bucks for his one season at Auburn? No.

College sports was dying a slow death.
Now it is dying faster than anyone realizes.

Mark my words on this. By the time all is said and done with the Ohio State scandal and the other ones to follow at Oregon and probably Texas (once Mack Brown leaves, of course... people seem to think he is an honest coach...?!).

The NCAA will change their rules for student-athletes and make them more like Olympic rules. This would allow college athletes to do promotions and other such things (commercials, etc.) and get paid for it. This wouldn't be the oft-debated "Pay The Players" argument. It would be more along the lines of let the players go out an promote themselves legally, with tax information and documentation.

Why is Terrelle Pryor showing up to interviews and meetings driving a brand new Nissan Z?...

He is living by the words of Jim Morrison -

"I'm gonna get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames. "

Tressel Steps Down

So, it finally happened. Jim Tressel has stepped down from his position of Head Coach of The Ohio State University's football team. For the past 10 years Tressel has led this team to 7 Big Ten championships, a BCS National Title, numerous top 10 finishes and the list goes on.

With that said, I must say as an alum of The Ohio State University and an avid Buckeye football fan - I am happy Tress is gone.

The man everyone thought was going to be invincible after all of these things with NCAA violations and the cover-up there after - - - is gone.

How can you be surprised Buckeye fans? No one should be surprised by this. From day one he recruited poor character players such as Maurice Clarett, Troy Smith and Terrelle Pryor... not to mention the worthless coward and sell-out Ray Small.

Tressel wasn't a good man, period. He was a man that lied between his teeth for years and used a facade to deceive all of you.

This is my first blog. Expect more truth. Expect Buckeye Football.

EXPECT EXCELLENCE!
